A safer world is under development. Our Science and Engineering teams are the innovation engine of AS&E, working across platforms to develop solutions that fulfill customers’ critical needs, solve their unmet security problems, and improve product performance.
What makes AS&E® systems the most comprehensive inspection tools available today? Our dedication to continued research and development.
MEETING REAL-WORLD REQUIREMENTS WITH UNIQUE AND EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS
Our R&D teams are making technological advances designed to keep pace with our rapidly changing marketplace. And their efforts are driving new and unique opportunities for our customers. These solutions help fulfill critical needs, solve security problems, and improve product performance.
Today, our teams are at work miniaturizing Z Backscatter® screening systems. Developing smaller, more portable solutions will bring this revolutionary technology into new areas, and enable Z Backscatter technology to have applications in nearly every X-ray inspection mission.
To develop highly advanced products that meet complex security needs, we’re forming partnerships with private companies and government organizations, such as:
- Working with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate Borders and Maritime Security Division, we’re designing and building a prototype that will screen general aviation aircraft for threats and contraband before entering the U.S.
- Through the CanScan Program, we’re designing and building a non-intrusive inspection (NII) system for air cargo. Funded by U.S. DHS S&T, the system is being developed to automatically detect and identify a wide variety of threat materials, including explosives, drugs, currency, and weapons at border crossings, maritime ports, and airports.
In addition, our Science and Engineering teams continue to strengthen our Intellectual Property (IP) base with more new patent applications filed. In fact, more patents applications were filed in FY12 than any single year in the last 40 years.Nous contacter Demander plus d’informations
